Refund Policy
Last updated July 6, 2026
How refunds work on Scene. Tickets are sold by organizers, not by Scene, so the organizer's own policy governs — this explains the mechanics and your options.
Free events
RSVPs to free events cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund — just remove the event from your schedule.
Paid tickets
- Tickets are a sale between you and the organizer, who sets the refund terms for their event. Check the event page or ask the organizer.
- Organizers (and Scene support) can issue a full refund from the ticketing tools. A refund returns your payment and voids the ticket's QR code so it can no longer be used at the door.
- On a full refund, Scene also returns its platform fee (2% + $0.49 per ticket); you are made whole. Refunds are returned to your original payment method by Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days.
- If an event is cancelled or materially changed, we encourage organizers to refund buyers, and we can assist — but the organizer is responsible for their event.
Chargebacks
Please contact the organizer or our support page before disputing a charge with your bank — we can usually resolve it faster than a chargeback.
Sponsorships and promotions
Sponsorship placements and paid event promotions (“boosts”) are generally non-refundable once they go live, since the placement begins delivering immediately. Contact us if something went wrong.
